BEHIND THE SCENES - A FASHION PHOTO SHOOT FOR A YOGA WEAR BRAND
RIPPLES OF GOOD VIBES - LIFESTYLE FASHION SHOOT FOR A YOGAWEAR BRAND
Me at work, with my LEICA cameras, wearing Ripple Yogawear of course!
Hello fellow yoga enthusiasts and wellness warriors!
Today I am taking you behind the scenes of a recent lifestyle shoot for Ripple Yogawear, makers of incredibly comfortable and flattering organic cotton yoga clothes.
Yoga is more than just the poses – it’s a philosophy, a lifestyle, and it extends from the mat to the world outside. And that’s what we wanted to capture in this shoot: the connection to fellow yogis and to nature, the joy, and the wonderful essence of feeling good in your own skin after practicing (we yogis know that feeling all too well…hey, it’s what makes us come back to the mat time and again!)
The brand’s slogan is #RipplesOfGoodVibes and it’s more than just a slogan, it’s what the beautiful humans of this brand stand behind. This women-founded and run company is all about kindness, to the humans they connect with (from their own team to those they collaborate with, and I can personally attest to that), to the world we all live in and share.

This is why Jackie, Ripple’s marketing director asked me to source models for this shoot that embody what the brand stands for, and not only visually.
The most beautiful collaboration grew from this briefing: I reached out to fellow yogis to see who knows someone who might be interested and available. Two yoginis formed a special connection that day in Santa Barbara, CA: Mei, LA-native, founder of EverFlora (www.drinkeverflora.com) and Adrienne, Santa Barbara yoga studio owner and life coach (Adrienne Smith, www.alignedlivingnow.com), and I got to capture it all.

The editing process was as mindful as the shoot – my focus was on enhancing, not altering. In alignment with the brand, I wanted to show these beautiful yogis with their very real features, and unlike many fashion shoots, let the clothes fall as they naturally do while being worn, no adjusting, pinning, smoothing – in short, no faking it. The outcome is joyful, beautiful, relatable, real, and most importantly, it created ripples of good vibes, which can now spread from their sources all over the world.

I have done a lot of yoga photography over the years (unsurprisingly, as a yoga teacher and professional photographer), sometimes with professional models, and more often with yogis that were willing to be captured. It is an honor and a true joy to capture someone while they practice mastering their mind and body – on and off the mat.
